The Adoption Process
The adoption fees for our dogs are $300. This covers their spay or neuter, microchip, all vaccines, vet visits, deworming, and (for those California dogs) transportation to Canada
Our adoption process has been developed for the protection of the dogs and for your family. We want to make sure that the fit is good for everybody involved, so adopting a dog from us is “best fit” and not first come, first served.
If there is a certain dog you are interested in adopting, please contact us! We will arrange with you to do a phone interview to get to know you better and to discuss the dog you’re interested in. From there, we consult with the Foster Home and ensure that you and the pup would be a great fit!
If everything looks good, we’ll arrange a trial visit which takes place over a 7-day period. We do a week-long trial visit to help determine whether everybody will get along and things work out. At the start of the visit we collect the full adoption fee ($300), in cash or cheque, and hold it until the completion of the visit.
If things work out, we come to your home and sign an adoption contract, hand ove.r medical records, and take a Success Photo with your family and the pup.
If things do NOT work out, we understand! We will come grab the pup and bring them back to foster care then ask you a couple of questions about what didn’t work out. You will get the complete adoption fee back within the 7-day trial period. You will get 50% of the adoption fees back if you surrender the dog 2-weeks or less after the adoption. Anything after 2-weeks, we will not be able to refund you your adoption fees. Based on case-by-case situation, we may be happy to keep the adoption fee for another pup in our care (we'd hate to say "Exchange" when it comes to this girls/boys.
