Gaming for the Dogs - A 24 hour gaming marathon for pups in need
February 16, 2016
Join us on March 12-13 from 7 am to 8 am the next day (daylight savings starts that weekend), as we put our butts to the test by playing video games for 24 hour straight to raise donations for the CaliCan pups in need.
2016 alone, CaliCan has taken in 8 locally surrendered dogs which have sent vetting bills skyrocketing (Over $5000 and counting). This is why it's so important to hold fundraisers like this one! It may seem easy, but it truly isn't (though, still easier than an ACTUAL physical marathon....and this one, our own pups can sit with us on the couch).
We're aiming to raise $3000 this year, but we can't do it without your help.
You can help by one of two ways.
1. Sign up to play! If you would like to play games for 24 hours, all we ask of you is to collect a minimum $200 in pledges (the more the better of course!). In order to be a participant, "proof of gaming" will be required. You can do so by broadcasting your game feed through twitch.tv or you can set up a webcam pointing at your TV or of yourself (or you switch it up during the twilight hours). You can play ANY game you want, the sky is the limit...as long as it's tasteful. This is a charity event after all!
2. Donate/pledge a gamer! For every $20 donation, not only will you get a Canadian tax receipt, but your name will also be entered into the draw for fun prizes! One of the top prizes will be a "Cards Against Humanity" set with 5 expansion sets!
Speaking of prizes, if you have anything you would like to donate, please contact us!
So far, we have five participants signed up. The deadline to sign up is March 5.
